Justin was born in 1987 and grew up in Bristol with his Mother and Father. He attended Bristol School of art at the age of 17 and was there for three years. After completing a Foundation course and achieving a top mark Distinction along with an ‘Outstanding Student Award’ he is currently studying Fine Art (specialising in painting) at the University Of Plymouth. When asked what his work is about he replied “ I am confident to say that I am inspired by the people I have contact with, I believe that, who your friends are and who you meet changes your life and respectively who you are. In retrospect my paintings are previews or portraits of emotions that occur from the way people make me feel, good or bad. You could say that they are viewings of ‘the human existence’ the physical and the spiritual. You may also read them with thoughts of constrictions and liberations of the human way of life; after all you stay in your ‘physical body ’, your constricted form, you’re liberated with your mind and spirit, you can travel the world and become your desired self in your mind. Art applies to what’s inside us, possibly a shared experience or similar feeling; it’s an opportunity to just stop, and think. Art has the power to move people and touch on vulnerability, As an Artist I have to step outside the boundary or engage with something that is worth sharing ”.
